Fritz-Wunderlich-Gesellschaft (society)

 

     
 

The Fritz Wunderlich Societyis based in Kusel and was founded in 1986. The society carries the name "Fritz-Wunderlich-Gesellschaft e. V." (Fritz Wunderlich Society). The articles of society were registered on the 4th November, 1986 at the court in Kaiserslautern under the Document Registration: VR Kusel 1385.

The initiative to found the Fritz Wunderlich Society as it is now came from the local Mayor at the time, Jochen Hartloff.

But the development goes back further.

 Fritz Wunderlich memorial Concert on 22nd November 1969 (Music Association, Kusel), with Sopranist Erika Köth.

 Fritz Wunderlich Memorial exhibition in the foyer of the local bank, Kreissparkasse Kusel.

 Fritz Wunderlich exhibition at the Kusel Bank (Kreissparkasse), Public Relations Manager at the time, Roland Hinkelmann and his team with painstaking effort and meticulous detail, had brought together a vast amount of material from the life and work of Fritz Wunderlich. They were supported well by the Wunderlich family. Guests of honour at the exhibition were Frau Eva Wunderlich and her three children, Constanze, Wolfgang and Barbara.

 The Sparkasse Kusel releases a silver memorial medal for this occasion.

 The Kusel County Council, the Music Association, the Evangelical City Church and the Volkshochschule (school) Kusel put together two Fritz Wunderlich memorial concerts for the 25th October and 22nd November. Singers were Erika Köth (Soprano), Maria Michels (Soprano) and Georg Friedrich Hendel (Violin).

 Memorial concert at the Evangelical City Church, Kusel. Participants : Westpfälzisches Symphony-Orchestra, conducted by Paul Engel. Soloist Philip Frohnmayer (Baritone).

 On the 11th and 12th July 1984 installation of the Town Hall bell tower and first official operation was 2nd September 1984.
