Memorial Concert 2005



The Fritz Wunderlich Society, Kusel, organised a memorial Concert on 17th September 2005 at 8pm to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Tenor Fritz Wunderlich.

The mezzo-soprano Christine Leyser was at the age of 18 already winner of the National competition for singing in Germany. She completed her music study at the High School for Music in Freiburg after she graduated. After that her classical singing career started in München. Mozart parts, opera’s and musicals are part of her repertory. These days she works as a freelancer. Guest-appearances all over the world and cooperation’s with well-established orchestras confirm her abilities.

Anthony Spiri was born in New Jersey, USA. He began learning piano, figured bass and counterpoint at the age of six and performed widely as pianist, organist and soprano soloist. He continued his studies in Cleveland and Boston, thereafter receiving an IBM grant to carry on further study in piano and historical keyboard instruments in Europe.

He has made numerous CD's with repertoire from the Baroque up to Reger, Gershwin and Milhaud and has recorded extensively for Austrian, German and other radio networks. He taught several semesters at the Musicological Institute of Salzburg University and is presently professor for piano chamber music at the Conservatory of Music in Cologne.
