F-W-Medal 1976

 

In 1976 the Kreissparkasse Kusel had a second medal struck, to honour the 10th anniversary of the late singer's death. The medal was made at Heraeus Edelmetalle GmdH in Hanau.

     

Face:
Portrait after an original photograph today owned by the Fritz Wunderlich Society, Kusel. It shows the singer in his brilliant role as tamino in Mozart's "Magic Flute" Also inscribed are the date of birth and death as well as the year of release.

     
 

Reverse:
The Kusel Rose Garden a well known and popular motif with the text "Mein Kusel in der Pfalz"

  The first medal of this series was presented by Bank Director Siegfried Klaaßen to Kusel Mayor Jäger in front of the Wunderlich bust at the Museum on December 16th 1976.
   

The medal was available for purchase on 20th December 1976.
