Museum (in general)

The Kusel City and Folk Museum is located in the former Michaelis-Pharmacie, Marktstraße 27. It is an old three storied building in the classical style. This house was built a few years after the fire 1794 at great expense. It certainly belongs amongst the finest classical Kusel houses.

The ground floor rooms are always reserved for exhibitions of professional and amateur artists.

In the other rooms permanent and comprehensive collections from the prehistory and early history of the district are on display.

On the first floor a memorial display for Fritz Wunderlich, Kusel's most famous son, has been established. The Fritz Wunderlich Society (Fritz-Wunderlich-Gesellschaft e.V.) is based here. All the archives, collection by the society over the years are to be found here.

The Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday 14.00 - 17.00 pm.
Closed on Mondays. Outside the official hours, group visits by prior arrangement (Telephone 06381 8222) (International +49 6381 8222).
